Rooted in ritual, creativity, and care, Augusta brings 16 years of soulful cooking to RYE.
Inspired by her mother’s kitchen and shaped by travels across the world, Augusta brings over 16 years of culinary experience to RYE. Her dishes celebrate gut health, seasonal ingredients, and the soulful joy of sharing food that feels as good as it tastes.

With a background spanning luxury hospitality, private cheffing, and food consultancy, she brings care and creativity to every ReTreat table. From Indian feasts to African-inspired spreads, Augusta honours life’s rituals with warmth, beauty, and nourishment — embodying RYE’s mission to elevate the everyday through heartfelt, sensory experiences.

Breakfast

Slow mornings start with fresh bakery baskets, seasonal fruits, local cheese and yoghurt, and of course, great coffee. It's continental, comforting, and worth lingering over. Breakfast is delivered to your cottage, so you can ease into the day in your own time.

No rushing to beat the breakfast cut off here.

Lunch

Lunch is colourful, fresh, and designed to hit the sweet spot — seasonal salads, wholesome soups with freshly baked sourdough, and generous helpings of plants and protein. Plenty to fill you up, but never weigh you down.

No beige food or sad salad bars at this buffet.

Dinner

Dinners are long-table and generous — a celebration of South African favourites served in candlelight with wine and the kind of conversation that lingers. From open-fire braais to fragrant curries and Cape-inspired feasts, each evening brings something new. It’s themed dining, done right.

No queues or plastic trays in sight.
